   James Norris Gray Award for Professional Development

Overview The James Norris Gray Award for Professional Development has been created by KAED to recognize those economic developers who strive to keep abreast of the ever-changing field of economic development. The Gray Award is geared toward those who continue professional education beyond that offered by KAED. The Gray Award is a one-time recognition of significant level of experience and expertise in the economic development field. The award is named in honor of James Norris Gray, who was an active economic development practitioner, and whose construction firm, the James N. Gray Company, remains a strong supporter of continuing education and excellence in the economic development field.  Award recipients will be recognized and honored at the 2009 KAED Annual Conference in Bowling Green.	2008 Award Recipient Left - Howard Gray, Gray Construction, Jim Hizer, Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce and Sandy Romenesko, KAED Chairman
Prerequisites 1) Continuing membership in KAED for at least three (3) years prior to award. 2) Receipt of KAED Outstanding Service Award in Honor of the KIDC Founders for at least one prior program year OR provide evidence of comparable involvement in KAED in previous years (by letter or other means).  3) Minimum of three (3) years experience in the field of economic development, with direct involvement in business recruitment and/or retention. To be eligible for the Gray Award, the prerequisites must be met, and a total of at least 20 points must be earned from the various categories listed. A peer review meeting will be held with each award nominee, and a final approval is made by action of the KAED Board of Directors. James Norris Gray Award Application
