Welcome to KAED

The purpose of the Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED) is to educate, advocate and connect.

The KAED staff, board members and committee members/volunteers of KAED are dedicated to providing leadership and a vision to advance economic development professionals and economic development throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Kentucky

KAED is the state’s premier organization dedicated to promoting and facilitating economic development in the Commonwealth.  Our membership covers all parts of Kentucky, from rural to urban areas, allowing us to provide a broad array of resources and expertise in the field of economic development.

Advocacy

We are an active presence at our state’s capital in Frankfort. Our staff and Public Policy Committee work year round with legislators and other business organizations to develop sound economic development policy. We provide our members with timely and pertinent legislative updates so that they are informed on how the actions in Frankfort will impact their communities.

Education

We promote and provide continuing professional development opportunities for our members and their local constituents. Our educational programs allow our members to stay ahead of the changes in economic development programs and best practices. Our premiere event is our Annual KAED Conference in November where members are able to connect and network with industry professionals from both the private and public sector.

Development

We develop professionals through our educational and training programs.

We develop connections between industry professionals, state and local government officials and other groups interested in improving Kentucky’s economic climate.

We develop legislative policy for the betterment of Kentucky and its citizens.

We develop marketing opportunities for local and regional economic development organizations to promote Kentucky’s outstanding business climate.

We develop communities by providing resources and expertise gleaned from our association members across Kentucky and through our involvement in regional and international economic development associations.
