The mission of KAED is to advocate, educate and connect economic development professionals across the Commonwealth.

Current KAED President, Hal Goode, announced to the Board of Directors on August 15 he accepted a position with the Danville-Boyle County Economic Development Partnership as Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.

“Hal Goode has done a tremendous job of building the KAED brand and we wish him much success in his new role. The next executive of our organization will begin with an elevated starting point from which to build even stronger collaboration between KAED, state and local officials, and the Cabinet for Economic Development,” remarked Chuck Sexton, incoming Chair of the KAED Board of Directors.

“The Kentucky Association for Economic Development has become one of the premier professional organizations in the country for economic developers and for communities seeking to enhance their economic knowledge and capabilities,” said Madison Silvert, Chair of the KAED Board of Directors.  “We are looking for a visionary leader who can further enhance KAED’s increased significance in our Commonwealth.”

The executive committee requested the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development provide input during this important selection process. Executive Officer of the cabinet, Vivek Sarin, agreed to join the search committee as ex-officio.

“The vision of our state is to encourage more education and opportunities among the economic development professionals across the Commonwealth,” Sarin said. “KAED, in conjunction with our cabinet, is the vehicle for reaching those goals and I am happy to play a role in finding the next leader of this organization.”

The executive search committee consists of former KAED Board chairs, state officials and KAED members from across the Commonwealth.
